hi, i’m charlotte lobdell

I’m a graduate of USC’s Film and Television Production program, where I studied writing, directing, and acting. Growing up, I worked at the bookstore my mom manages, skipped school to get RL Stine’s autograph, and wrote fanfic as a cat in the Warriors book series on Neopets (yes, I still play).

As a creative, I work on female-driven stories across format. I’ve edited content for Snapchat, was the showrunner’s assistant for Hulu’s Dollface, and recently wrapped as the writers’ assistant on Amazon’s upcoming Cruel Intentions TV reboot.

In my work, I love blending high/low culture to tell stories about impetuous young women– their obsessive friendships, messy romances, and the moral gray areas in which they operate in pursuit of their dreams.

This past year, my 1910s Sex and the City-style hour-long television pilot placed in the top 8 scripts in Slamdance’s annual Screenplay Contest, and second in Script Pipeline’s First Look Screenplay Contest, among others.

Currently, I’m walking the Silver Lake Reservoir or finishing my YA novel, Influenced, a satire of the college admissions process.
